An applicant who desires to obtain information under the RTI Act, 2005 can make a request through this RTI Online Portal to the Kerala State Departments.
The text of the application may be written in the prescribed column of the RTI request form. At present, the text of the application is confined up to 3000 characters only.
In case, the text of an application contains more than 3000 characters, it can be uploaded as a PDF attachment in the "Scan and Upload" column of the form.
After filling the first page of the RTI application form, a non-BPL applicant will be redirected to the payment gateway. The applicant can pay the prescribed RTI fee through the e-Treasury payment gateway and affiliated banks. As per the RTI Rules, 2012, a citizen below the poverty line is not required to pay the RTI fee. However, a BPL applicant is required to attach a copy of the appropriate government-issued certificate along with the application.
On submission of an application, a unique registration number will be issued, which may be referred by the applicant for any future reference.
It may be noted that the application filed through this RTI Online Portal will reach electronically to the "Nodal Officer" of the said Department and "Not" to the PIO of the concerned Department.
The Nodal Officer will transmit the RTI application electronically to the concerned PIO.
If the RTI application is not for a public authority selected by the applicant, the "Nodal Officer" of that public authority will electronically forward the application to the "Nodal Officer" of the concerned Central Public Authority under Section 6(3) of the RTI Act. In case of a Central Public Authority not aligned with this portal, the application will be physically forwarded.
You can use the "Forgot Password" option in the login page to reset your password using your registered mobile number or email ID. You can also go to Application History page to see your past RTI requests.
Yes, it is made mandatory to create a user account so that you can easily track all the RTI requests filed and replies received for requests in one place.
As long as you are a registered user and your account is not deactivated, you can see all RTI requests and replies.
Status/Reply of the RTI Application filed online can be viewed by the applicant by clicking on "Application Status" or by signing up to the account.
